Collie Health Foundation Organization

The Foundation's membership is made up of individuals and clubs who have made at least the minimum annual membership contribution. Additional contributions are received as a result of auctions, fund raising events & promotions, "Memorial" contributions, bequests left in wills and other miscellaneous donations all add to our ability to fund projects.

The hierarchy of the Foundation begins at the membership level. Membership consists of several categories. Next in the hierarchy are the Corporators. Currently there are 44 Corporators, all of whom are elected from the general membership and serve a 4-year term. From the Corporators, a Board of Directors, consisting of 15 members (including all 5 Officers) is elected. Each Director serves a 4-year term. The Directors are the voting members of the Foundation. This is the Foundation's governing body that makes policy and decisions, by voting on proposals and issues that affect the organization.

Foundation business is conducted by various committees, serving the special needs of the Foundation. The most important committee is by far and away, the Grants Committee. This unique committee is responsible for soliciting Grant Proposals, reviewing Grants, and approving Grants. The Grants selected by the committee are then submitted to the Board of Directors for approval or disapproval. The yearly Grant dispersal (currently at $40,000K per year) is the heart and soul of the Foundation. It is headed by a Chair, appointed by the President. Other Committees include Membership, By-Laws, Elections, Auction Coordinator, Promotions, Raffles, Fund-raising, Advertising, and annual events.

The Foundation publishes a quarterly Newsletter.

All the committee members and other volunteers work very hard for the Foundation, contributing both their time and special talents. The Foundation has no "paid" positions, however, expenses, such as postage, supplies and printing, are reimbursed.
