Description: DNA testing for the “a” alleles in Collies that are sable or tricolor allows breeders to better predict the colors of pups from particular matings.  This will apply to Merles too.

CHF has never given a rebate for Coat Color or Length testing.  Because this is now a part of the Optimal Selection Canine Genetic Analysis, the Board voted for a rebate on this test.  This is an added bonus to the health testing that is covered by this test. On December 17, 2002 the organization changed it’s name from the Collie Club of America Foundation to the Collie Health Foundation in order to give the Foundation a unique identity separate from the Collie Club of America and more clearly represent our mission.
