Current CHF Testing Partners

* NEW * UC-Davis VGL Collie Panel: The CHF is pleased to announce a new and exciting collaboration with Veterinary Genetics Laboratory (VGL) at University of California – Davis. Jointly we have coordinated the creation of a panel of tests most important to the health and well-being of our Collies and to help advance and improve our breeding programs. CHF Subsidy for 2024- $100.00 on the full panel and $25.00 subsidy on select individual tests for CHF members!

The Collie Panel includes the following tests:

  • CN – Cyclic Neutropenia
  • CEA – Collie Eye Anomaly
  • *DMS – Dermatomyositis, including A, B, and C loci
  • *MDR1 – Multidrug Sensitivity
  • DM – Degenerative Myelopathy
  • *rcd2-PRA – Rod-Cone Dysplasia Type 2

You can add the coat length test for an additional $25.00 when ordering the Collie panel.

You can also automatically have test results sent to OFA for CHIC Certification for $10.00 per test by checking the appropriate boxes on the order form. CHF encourages submission of all tests. Certification cost on the three tests required for Collie certification can be submitted for subsidy reimbursement (see CHIC Certification Subsidy information below. for details).

For more information on requesting CHF testing codes for UC-Davis VGL panel or individual tests see:

Wisdom Health Optimal Selection Panel: We no longer offer a subsidy for the Optimal Selection panel, but Wisdom is providing a 20% discount to Collie Health Foundation members. For more information on requesting Wisdom discount code, see Optimal Selection. Please note – Wisdom Health has discontinued individual test offerings including those Dermatomyositis (DMS). While a DMS test is included on the OS panel, it only provides loci A and B and therefore does not qualify for CHIC Certification.

CHIC Certification Subsidy

The Collie Health Foundation has voted to subsidize the submission of the three DNA tests required by the Collie Club of America for CHIC certification, up to a value of $30. Read more about this new subsidy here!

CHF does not provide subsidies for tests done through other testing agencies, even if for a health issue listed here.
